No Persian equivalent for internet: Persian Academy researcher

Tehran, Aug 30. MOBNA – The Persian Academy is not to determine an equivalent for the word internet, an Academy researcher said.

“Because internet is a special word it will not have a Persian equivalent as people worldwide pronounce it as it is,” Academy’s telecommunication group researcher Hamid Hasani told Mobna news agency.
The Academy has so far determined equivalents for terms MMS, GPRS and handsfree.
It recently offered Rayanameh as Persian equivalent for e-mail and Payamak for sms.
