Tehran, 25 June – Iran communication services disconnection may affect Iran's membership of ITU (International Telecommunication Union) and its decline in ITU ranking.
“Iran communication networks disconnection is likely to incur some penalties until Telecommunication Company of Iran explains the reason,” Iran Information Society Union member Ali-Akbar Jalali said.
“According to ITU rules, no country may disconnect communication links without valid reason. This issue is taken as breaking ITU rules and Iran is one of the signatories,” he said.
“One consequence of disconnecting communication links is Iran’s lagging behind other countries in ICT field,” he reminded.
