Tehran, May 17. MOBNA – Less than 40 percent of Iran optical fiber network is used, telecommunication minister deputy said.
“Iran digital grade with 10 grades downfall has reached 100 among 170 countries which are ITU (international telecommunication union) members,” he Kamal Mahamedpour said.
“There are 110,000 meters optical fiber network in Iran and 40 percent of it is used, therefore internet users do not have access to internet and broadband easily,” he added.
“Regarding 65 percent mobile phone penetration rate, 35 percent landline penetration rate and 30 percent internet penetration rate, the needed applications for internet network are not available in Iran,” he said.
